Pastor Frank L. Curtis, Senior accepted God’s call to preach his first sermon on December 16, 1995 and was ordained in November 1996 at Freeman Hall Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Reverend Jeff Davis.  He is currently a member of Mount Burner Missionary Baptist Church pastored by Reverend Ray E. Coleman, Senior.

For 18 years he has served as the pastor of Providence Baptist Church.  Under Pastor Curtis’s leadership, the church continues to grow and thrive – implementing programs that complement its church and community.  Pastor Curtis’s ministry’s objective is to preach and teach the Word of God with clarity and power, so much so that the “hearers of the Word” become “doers of the Word.”

Pastor Curtis is a 1984 graduate of Port Gibson High School and attended Alcorn State University. He also studied at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving his Doctorate of Divinity from the latter. He continues to grow and learn by participating in various continuing education courses in biblical studies through local and state associations which he always introduces to Providence through intensive “bible study” messages and practical preaching.

He is a member of the Jefferson County Baptist Association, the General Baptist Missionary State Convention where he serves as a part of the evangelism team as well as a member of the gospel singing group, The Christian Harmonizers.

A devoted husband and father, Pastor Curtis is married to First Lady, Zerline King. His beloved wife assists him with Sunday Services as she serves as the piano player for Providence. They are the proud parents of son, King, and daughters,  Kierani and Zaiya.

The Lord has blessed Pastor Curtis with a pastoral gift and his life’s experiences have strengthened him to perform this role to the glory of God. Pastor Curtis is a man of honor that is devoted to God’s Word, his family, and Providence’s church family. His favorite scripture is referenced in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
